We arrived at the hotel in Da Nang, but there was a line in front of the reception, and the announcements were in Vietnamese, so I had no idea what they were saying.
Finally, we reached the reception desk, but they said something like “There are no rooms for you,” which left me thinking, “What?”, but when I listened carefully, I realized they meant “There are no rooms for singles.”
Well! I turned around and found a dandy man who seemed to be alone, so I called out to him,
#His name is Oda
and somehow we managed to check into the hotel room. The airline only told us to “wait at the hotel,” so after consulting with Oda, we decided to take a shower and take a nap for about two hours.
After the nap, I felt somehow… “I’m hungry~”
and it was my first time in Da Nang. We started the party at a restaurant near the hotel with beer 🍺 and mysterious snacks!
Oda was a nice person, and we had a lively discussion about Vietnam.
Oda-san is a pharmacist who runs several dispensing pharmacies. He has already expanded into Cambodia and is now aiming to expand into Vietnam in earnest. We drank from the morning and Oda-san and I quickly became brothers.
After a round of drinks, I returned to my hotel room and found a note on the hotel door from JAL saying, “Staff members are on their way from Ho Chi Minh City. Please wait.”
When I asked the hotel front desk what time they would arrive, they said, “I Don’t No.”
I was worried, but then I finally got through to Maiko, a consultant in Hanoi, who told me reassuringly, “It’s probably going to be tomorrow even if you wait, so please head to Da Nang airport.”
I asked Maiko to help me arrange tickets for Oda-san, and we headed to Da Nang Airport 🚗
At the airport, only business class was available, so I experienced business class for the first time in my life ^_^
I think it was around 4pm when I arrived safely at Noi Bai Airport.
It was a strange experience because the experience here will be very useful for my future Hanoi store.
This experience will be passed down as the “Da Nang Miracle”.
