The next day, I went to Kyoto, and the first place I went to was the family home of a staff member who was retiring, to visit the parents. The trains in Kyoto were packed! I changed to the Nara Line from Kyoto Station, but since it was on the line that runs through Fushimi Inari Shrine, it was packed with foreign passengers! I thought, “I wish they’d just hurry past Inari Station,” but in the end, a lot of people got off at Inari Station, so I decided to take it easy from there. I walked from Kowata Station… My left foot was in severe pain from gout, so I aimed to take it easy. After all that, I arrived and started talking to the parents. It seemed like the parents were like, “I didn’t hear about this,” as if it was a bolt from the blue. Well, our company has to deal with high-status customers, so it’s inevitable that my debut as a customer will be a little late. #Individual differences
However, since this is a time when the basics are being memorized, I feel that retiring at such an important time would be a big blow to my future career as a barber, so I told the parents. I think they sympathized with me a lot, and they didn’t seem to resent me for quitting, so I think that was a good thing. I think I’ve got a son in Tokyo, so I think I’ll check on him sometimes.
For the second place, I hurried to the parents of the employee in the gray zone yesterday. I changed to the Kyoto Line at Kyoto Station and went to Nagaokakyo. I had visited the place before to say hello, so I knew the area, but I was careful. I arrived a little early, so I searched for a book I could carry around at a nearby bookstore. I found a casual book that was a collection of Inamori’s quotes, so I bought it. This will make the travel time refreshing and not sleepy.
Now, I always feel nervous when I meet the parents. I’ve explained the company’s policy in detail, and I’ve asked the parents to speak on behalf of the student and the employee, and we will review the conditions and working style, so please understand. Please wait a little while until I make a proposal.
Anyway, I’m writing this blog in the departure lobby at Itami Airport, summarizing these things. Life is full of ups and downs, and a diverse company with lots of different people is actually making progress! Or so we say at our company. And when I get home, I’ll talk about this at length, and do my best to gain sympathy.
