After class, we had time to communicate with the teachers! We went out for drinks with Professor Tomino from the Barber Department, who coordinated the event, and Professor Konno from the Beauty Department, whom I met for the first time. This was the best part. The restaurant in Obihiro this time was apparently the restaurant of a junior colleague from when Professor Konno was working part-time at a sushi restaurant. My impression of Obihiro was that during the day, there were a lot of tourists, especially older tourists, and everyone was going to some famous place from Obihiro Station, so the city was quiet. But at night… People just came out in droves (lol) It was amazing! It suddenly became a busy downtown area (lol) Obihiro seems to be a night town! The impression was so different that it made me like Obihiro even more!
So, what was the feedback on my class? ? I was hoping that even a few people would find it attractive or see the potential in it, and that they would find the work of a barber interesting, but surprisingly, they seemed to find it quite interesting. Well, I guess it’s just polite talk, but I think it was worth it! I’ll just accept it as such.
The two teachers are 26 and 31 years old, so I wondered if it would be fun to drink with me, but they both talked about various things, which was helpful. Although there is an age difference, I don’t feel much of a gap between them. At my company, when I say “beer for now,” I’m told, “That’s Showa, I’ll order my favorite drink for Reiwa,” but these two started with “Sapporo Classic on tap,” so I really liked them (lol). It seems that young teachers are also worried about the gap with students. I thought, “Is that so? Me too?”, but it seems that there are various things. Even if we are different in age, there seems to be a generational gap that never ends. There must be a gap between seniors and superiors (lol). In the end, as for me, I was able to drink with the kind two comfortably. An old man who is spoiled by younger people. With that composition, I enjoyed my night in Obihiro. I’ll visit again while I’m at it, taking advantage of the opportunity.
However, I see this as taking time, designing awareness many times, and visiting in person to make sales. I believe that the value of interacting with students and exchanging information with teachers face-to-face, and the process, are my strengths and values.
I will continue to take advantage of my juniors, and as a result, I will do my best to create a world full of smiles.
See you again.
